Welcome to Clyde F. Brown Elementary School

Welcome to Clyde F. Brown Elementary School, home of the "Clyde Brown Bears"!  Our close-knit school community  serves students in Preschool through Grade 5 through united vision that seeks to honor the education of the "whole child".  We are proud to offer our students an  award-winning Spanish Immersion program in Grades 1 through 5 in addition to Spanish language instruction for all students through FLES (Foreign Language in Elementary School).  CFB is honored to be a designated Tools of the Mind Northeast Regional Model School, which models exemplary early learning practices for visitors from across the nation and from as far away as Russia.  Clyde F. Brown Elementary School is proud of its prior designation as a Lighthouse School in Massachusetts as our students consistently meet or exceed averages on statewide tests.

The Clyde F. Brown Elementary School strives to fulfill the Millis Public Schools deeply held philosophy of personalized learning for all students.  through the infusion of technology in day-to-day learning, through the promotion of project-based learning at all grade levels, and through integrated curriculum that fosters inquiry-based experiences in learning STEM concepts through literacy and through other individually connected student personalized learning experiences.

Please join us for FIND YOUR WAY DAYS on:
Tuesday 8/27 from 9:00am-12:00pm
Wednesday 8/28 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm

FIND YOUR WAY DAYS are an opportunity for students and families to visit the school, take a self guided tour and find your way around the new building. Stop by your new classroom and check it out before the first day of school!
Mr Phelps and Mrs. Molloy will be provide information about arrival and dismissal procedures at the top of each hour during all Find Your Way days - listen for the announcements!

School nurse Diane Danehy will be in the Health Suite during the upcoming Find Your Way days - this is a great opportunity to drop off Epi Pens or meds or to touch base with the nurse in a more relaxed setting prior to the start of school. Please make it a point to stop by and visit Mrs. Danehy in the Health Suite!

The First Day of School For Students in Grades 1-5 is Tuesday 9/3. All students will proceed to the GYM where they will meet their new classroom teacher.
Kindergarten students will attend screening dates on 9/3 or 9/4. The First Day for Kindergarten Students is Thursday 9/5.
Preschool students will attend a visiting day on 9/5. Families will be receiving an email from the Preschool teachers. The First Day For PreSchool Students is 9/9.

Please note that parents/caregivers will not enter the school with their children, so please plan to say your goodbyes and give good luck hugs before they arrive at school.
Should you wish to take pictures of your student in front of the school, we will have First Day 2019-2020 signs available on the FIND YOUR WAY DAYS. We strongly encourage families to take these “first day pictures” in advance of the true first day of school, as this will provide all involved maximum time and a more relaxed experience. Thanks for your assistance in helping make this important experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible for our students!
